Game of Thrones’ Sansa Stark becomes “Lara Croft”!
According to Variety, Sophie Turner, known for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, will play Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider series on Amazon Prime Video. Although the deal is not yet finalised, it is emphasised that it is very close to finalisation.
If Sophie Turner is confirmed as Lara Croft, the young actress will join an elite group of actresses who have previously portrayed Lara Croft in live action. Angelina Jolie has played the British archaeologist in two films and Alicia Vikander in only one. Now Turner seems to be a candidate to be the longest-running actor to play this role.
Sophie Turner was nominated for an Emmy for Best Supporting Actressfor her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones in 2019. Another prominent role of the actress was the character of Jean Gray in the latest X-Men films. In addition, the successful name has recently appeared in the HBO Max mini-series The Staircase.
The highly anticipated Tomb Raider series is being developed in partnership between Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios.
